Golden Eagle Mfg. has scored another Victory finish in Pro FWD, a Victory finish in Hot Rod and a 2nd place finish in Sport FWD!

Golden Eagle Mfg. sponsored race teams captured two wins this race; Saturn Motorsport’s Lisa Kubo in Pro FWD and Gary Gardella in Hot Rod. In addition, we also captured a 2nd place finish, Jason Hunt in Sport FWD.

Pro FWD

Lisa Kubo – Saturn Motorsports

Winner - Lisa Kubo – Saturn Motorspoprts
Lisa’s wins seem to be as consistent as gravity. Saturn Motorsports, once again, took the victory in the Pro FWD class. Since Lisa first ran a seven in FL, she hasn’t looked back. She qualified with an 8.099 taking the #2 qualifier. She won the event with an impressive 7.956 at 189 MPH. This takes Lisa one step closer to capturing the championship for 2004. We all agree that she has the best shot at winning this series! Congrats to Team Saturn on another flawless race.

Ed Bergenholtz – Team Bergenholtz

Bergenholtz Racing has decided to sit this race out to figure out what to do with the motor program. Although the car has the power to be competitive, they lack the reliability due to some minor issues with the stock engine block casting. Team Bergenholtz will be testing furiously to prepare for the upcoming NHRA Colorado race. We hope to see them there!

Hot Rod

Gary Gardella – Gardella Racing

3rd Place - Gary Gardella – Gardella Racing
Gardella Racing captured their third career win in NHRA beating out some of the most highly funded teams in the sport. Gary and crew chief John Perry have really outdone themselves with this race program. They were the most consistent race team over the weekend running back to back low to mid 8 second blasts.

"It was the greatest feeling in the world to win in front of the hometown fans, my family and friends," Gardella said. "We had a great reaction time in the final and Marty had tranny problems, but I'll take the win.”

Sav Leone – Leone Racing

Sav is building a new car for the 2004 season to compete in the NDRA drag racing series. We hope to hear a lot from him later in the year. Best of luck to you Sav!

All Motor

Vince Tiaga – Team Bergenholtz

Team Bergenholtz will be debuting their all-motor class entry at the NHRA Las Vegas race in July. We hope to see some great number from this car.

Sport FWD

Jason Hunt – Hunt Racing

2nd Place - Jason Hunt – Hunt Racing
Jason is on fire. This VA native just doesn’t like to go slow. Jason had some great passes this weekend and ended up finishing 2nd. Jason had the faster time in the finals, but had a jumpy foot and Jason got the red light handing the win over the the guy in the next lane. Jason, we told you about pre-mature launching!!! We are very honored to be able to give the guy a hand. We hope to see Jason in some of the West Coast races very soon. Great Job Jason!

Although I was not able to go to the race this weekend, I was there in spirit, and on the phone. This sounded like a great race to attend and participate in as are all of the NHRA events thus far. I hope to be in Colorado June 12 – 13, 2004. We hope you come out and see what fast drag racing is all about. Thanks to all that support our company and our teams and we hope that one day you will use Golden Eagle on your car.
